Keyword Driven Testing
One of the unique aspects of UTP is the separation, yet integration of test design and test automation through the introduction of a roles-based approach. Test cases are designed using Keywords, which are modular, re-usable test components. Keywords, Test Cases, and Test Execution Results are all visible everywhere within the Enterprise and provide world wide visibility to Partners.
An Integrated Keyword Test Solution
- UTP comes with a complete and integrated set of tools that assist you with the entire test design and automation process and the ability to interface with your existing tools. UTP provides support for 32-bit Windows applications, and can be tightly integrated with other vendor tools such as Mercury Interactive’s Test Director™.
- Design – used by Test Designers to specify Keywords and to create new test cases using those Keywords.
- Automation – used by Automation Engineers to capture GUI object information and to automatically implement the Keyword code for operations on these objects. Unified TestPro provides a comprehensive Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to efficiently implement Keywords for more complex actions when needed.
- Execution – used by Test Executors to create test sets, to execute tests and to generate and view the test result reports.
- Administration – used by the Administrator to create, import, or export projects; to add users; and to assign and allocate user roles.
