Edward Kit, founder and president of Software Development Technologies (SDT), is well known as an industry leader, test expert, author, and keynote speaker at testing conferences. His best-selling book, Software Testing in the Real World: Improving the Process, has been adopted as a standard by companies around the world such as Sun Microsystems, Exxon, Chase Manhattan Bank and Cadence Design Systems. His feature articles in Software Development Magazine have outlined new state-of-the-practice test automation models that are currently being adopted around the world. An international software consultant / executive with over 20 years experience in software engineering, Mr. Kit has advised clients on bringing practical and proven software quality technology and process to their development efforts.
SDT provides 3rd generation test automation products and services dedicated to improving the quality and time to market for software. An international corporation, SDT has assisted hundreds of companies worldwide with improving software testing, technical reviews and inspections, and test automation.
Public and in-house seminars have been given by Mr. Kit throughout the U.S., the U.K., Japan, Germany, India, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria, Finland, and Australia. In-house seminar clients include Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Philips, Sun Microsystems, Nokia, Banksys, Landmark Graphics, Hewlett-Packard, Kredietbank, Portugal Telecom, Siemens, Compaq Computers, Cadence Design Systems, and Adobe Systems. Mr. Kit managed 150 people at Tandem Computers as a third/director level manager in the areas of independent test, metrics, performance, system testing, training, quality, software release, tools and software engineering. Identified and managed the steps to define and establish software engineering improvements at Tandem.
Member of the working group that created the primary international software testing standard, IEEE 829-1983, the Standard for Software Test Documentation.
Designed and developed communications software for Bell Laboratories. Taught aeronautical engineering students at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University courses in Computer Science and Mathematics. Designed and developed a new high-reliability approach to classification of satellite data under contract by Advanced Research Projects Agency.
A private pilot, Ed enjoys sports and his family, which includes twins (boy and girl) as well as a daughter. BSEE, MSEE from Purdue University.
