Catherine F. Baldwin

Catherine Baldwin, chief operating officer of Software Development Technologies (SDT), has over two decades of experience in Finance and Marketing in the high tech arena. Catherine is responsible for managing the legal, finance, marketing and human resource functions at SDT. She has implemented SDT's employee stock option program, put a full-featured health insurance program in place, implemented a sales pipeline and forecasting system and overseen the development of SDT's website and marketing activities.

Prior to joining SDT, Catherine was the Director of Corporate Communications at Sybase, where she developed the company's marketing messages. She led the corporate-wide effort to enhance Sybase's image with market-oriented messages; her team developed and rolled-out the first multimedia sales presentations used globally.

Catherine spent eight years at Tandem Computers before joining Sybase. In her last position as a Product Marketing Manager she was responsible for developing and managing promotional programs for all Tandem products, global product launches and seminars, analyst relations, tradeshows and technical press relations. Notable accomplishments while at Tandem include:

• Successful launch of Tandem's first low-end server line, CLX, gaining internal and external acceptance and profitability.
  
  
• Led a 50-person cross-functional team to introduce Tandem's first mainframe-class system, Cyclone, with three uplink sites - Cupertino, London, Tokyo - and 20 downlink sites for customers and analysts. This system launched Tandem into a completely new market, gaining greater credibility and growth potential.
  
  
• Implemented a development life cycle throughout development and product management.
  
  
• As Finance Manager, she implemented a new forecasting system to accurately predict customer revenues as well as manufacturing material requirements. This system was estimated to save Tandem millions of dollars in terms of material and manpower usage.
  

Prior to Tandem, Catherine was at Memorex Corporation for eight years with her last position being Corporate Manager of Financial Analysis and Planning. While there, she held various positions in accounting, business development and financial analysis.

Catherine holds an MBA in finance from Loyola University of Chicago and a BS in biology and nutrition from Cornell University of Ithaca, NY.
